Social Media Lead – Food (up to £55,000)

About the role  

We are looking for a creative, driven and experienced Social Media Lead to work on the UK’s No.1 Food media brand, Good Food and across our food and wellness portfolio. You will join the Audience Engagement Team (organic social), working closely with editorial and commercial teams and be responsible for the development and execution of the social strategy for the Good Food and olive channels, building brand awareness and affinity, increasing followers, generating engagement, developing commercial opportunities, promoting key campaigns, driving traffic and increasing product consideration.  

Reporting into the Audience Engagement Director, you’ll be part of the central team of organic social media specialists, managing content supply, commercial partnerships, marketing campaigns, reporting and sharing insights to improve performance and inform the business.  

You’ll be leading the growth of our dynamic food brands across priority social media channels, finding every opportunity to reach and engage new audiences with our content, skilfully maximising it to power our business and deliver against our KPIs.   

In this role you will work with content, creative, commercial and marketing teams to ensure the planning and delivery of native, social first schedules, working in a holistic way to connect with our social community and to discover new audiences. You’ll liaise with social platforms to ensure our success, collaborate with influencers and contributors and align with our paid social team to drive the reach of our promotional content.

As a Social Media Lead - Food you will; 

  • Develop the social media and channel strategy for Food in-line with brand and business targets 
  • Lead our organic social activity to drive audience growth and engagement across priority channels with responsibility for planning and delivering the social media calendar 
  • Manage day-to-day activity including copywriting, scheduling, planning, editing, community management, UGC collation and publishing exciting content for our social media channels including video and other content forms 
  • Create content briefs to ensure consistency of social content quality and quantity to meet output targets and take ownership of this process 
  • Consistently drive growth by using performance insight, best practice and content optimisation to grow our channel footprints 
  • Contribute to new project briefs and plans, ensuring social media plays a key role 
  • Lead on analytics, insights, reporting and social listening, setting benchmarks, KPIs and sharing performance back to the team and wider stakeholders 
  • Work closely with commercial teams to develop and drive revenues through social media 
  • Work closely with paid social teams to align on campaign timings and performance and to deliver savings through organic reach 
  • Work with cross-functional teams using social media to deliver campaign objectives 
  • Produce and present regular competitor analysis (data and content led) to key business stakeholders to develop their understanding 
  • Share social trends and collaborate on opportunities to react quickly to relevant events  
  • Suggest, implement and test new and innovative ideas / features to deliver against our goals 
  • Gain a deep understanding of our brands, taking care to consistently promote brand attributes, using the TOV, personality and style that our audiences love and respond to 

Requirements

  • Be a social media content and strategy specialist with relevant experience of managing a market leading brand within a dedicated social media role  
  • Have demonstratable experience of successfully delivering an evolving social media strategy based on robust insights and data  
  • Have experience of ownership of social media planning, briefing, content gathering, content manipulation scheduling, setting performance targets and reporting  
  • Be an excellent communicator, setting the agenda clearly for all colleagues and stakeholders   
  • Always be thinking of new ways to drive our business forward using the power of social media  
  • Be pro-active and vocal to highlight opportunities and results to cross-functional teams  
  • Have extensive hands-on experience with Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, social media tools such as Sprinklr and planning tools such as Monday.com  
  • Have in-depth knowledge and understanding of different creative formats across social platforms and always ready to embrace new social trends and spaces as they emerge  
  • Have knowledge of the food sector and an interest in food content 
  • Have copy writing excellence and exceptional attention to detail whilst working at pace   
  • Have the ability to work positively and collaboratively with stakeholders and partners  
  • Be able to act effectively under the pressure of last-minute deadlines and changing priorities, with initiative and has the ability to solve problems quickly  
  • Be a creative thinker – having the ability to spot opportunities and either develop them on your own, or through engaging others to produce new and relevant content  
  • Be commercial – think of ways to drive revenue through our current and future communities  
  • Be flexible to work outside of office hours
